The new gold has larger capacity that is more suitable for frequent use (such as for larger household, offices, etc). It can treat and output fresh water at a faster rate than the silver. The new gold also produces better treated water than the silver with its improved composition.
The new gold is fully stainless including its base unlike the silver type that has a base made from plastic. For high quality purifier, you will want full stainless without much use of plastics. Although plastic is generally non-toxic, they are susceptible to long-term breakdown especially if it must treat water that contains certain carcinogens at all time.
